The Ministry of Intercession - Day 22 - Pray for those suffering

Suffering is a far to common experience all around the world. Whether it is for natural causes or human causes.
We were not created to suffer but to have fellowship with God. Right after sin and suffering was introduced into the world by the Fall God announced His plan. It involved suffering by an innocent and sin free man.
A few thousand years later Jesus was born and lived and suffered like any other human.

He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.  - Isaiah 53:3

The suffering is not good in itself. Suffering is not a blessing. But sometimes suffering might cause us to turn to God for strength and endurance. In that case something good comes out of it. But only because God is brought into it by faith. Rom 8:28. In itself suffering does not serve a good purpose like catharsis in some religions.

By Jesus suffering and dying for us He has struck suffering at it's core by opening for fellowship with God again and we begin enjoying some of the final result already now - relief and healing in His name.

4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.  - Isaiah 53:4-5

But there are still many people around the world suffering. Either because of their race, origin, religion or political conviction.
They need prayer.

How to pray
Pray for your own heart to be moved. Pray for the heart of leaders to be moved.
Pray for God to intervene supernaturally in their situation.
