"The Ministry of Intercession" Days 7 & 8

Yesterday and today are focused on prayer for the Holy Spirit's power on Ministers and all Christian  Workers. Paul delighted in his companions and grieved when there was division or desertion. He mentions fellow workers, co-laborers, and the partnership we share in the Gospel. Today is a great reminder to take that partnership seriously.

When I get a chance to sit in worship or listen to preaching or receive ministry, it is difficult not to immediately become a critic and a consumer. God has called normal men and women into various kinds of ministry. But each one of them are normal men and women. They have doubts and temptations. They have times they feel discouraged and less than qualified to meet the demands. Other times they may struggle with pride, resentment, or entitlement. Whether they are up or down, they need one thing. Actually, one person--the Holy Spirit. Murray writes, "What need they have of prayer! What an influence they might be if they were all clothed with the power of the Holy Spirit. Pray definitely for this; long for it" (181).

Today, intercede for us, the ministers and Christian workers at Trinity.
Pray for the other ministers and workers in town.
Pray for their families and the servant-leaders with whom they work.
Pray for their personal lives, finances, prayer life, vision, health, and their protection.
Pray for a spirit of unity among Christian leaders in our town.
