Update on the Heart: Sabbatical Surprise Continued Again

Dear ones, Jesus' grace!
My cardiologist called today with welcome news. She went over the results from my time in the hospital last week with a fine-tooth comb, and identified what is called a myocardial bridge. Most people have arteries that rest on top of the heart, but mine runs through the heart muscle. Usually this is undetected, especially at rest, but for some (like me), when the heart exerts pressure against this bridge, it constricts the artery. The artery gets choked responding like it is blocked. Hence, the panting after walking for 2 blocks.

For now, we are trying a medication that relaxes that ventricles (sounds relaxing). I'll still have the cardiac MRI this coming week to rule out any other abnormalities.

Here are some links to more information:

A sincere thanks again for all the prayer and care! I have been overwhelmed with a sense of God's peace and your love!
I love you, too!
Nathan

Pastor Nathan, So great to hear of the good news about your heart. Your/our prayers have been answered with this diagnosis: is treatable with medication, it's not life threatening, you may proceed with your vacation and you are "not a whimp" when it comes to exercising! Good news and blessings on you and your family as you travel to Europe.
