Vision rumblings

“A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.” William Shedd
Harbor: a place of building, repairing, resting, safety…EQUIPPING
Beyond: a place of sailing, adventure, testing, transportation, competition…SENDING

Vision for Trinity as a harbor—a safe place for people to be touched, taught, transformed, healed, equipped (trained)
· Prayer ministry will be more important in our future than it ever was.
· Dedicated room for ongoing intercession, and soaking in the healing presence of the Lord.
· A Re-dedication of our prayer chapel as truly a house of prayer for all nations (while maintaining safety)
· Regular training in healing prayer and deliverance.
· Christian growth process will be defined, giving everyone a path to knowing the Christian story; growing in Christian character; growing in Spirit-filled living; knowing their gifts; testing them out. I think the Alpha course will be a part of this.
· Ron Luce of Teen Mania Ministries writes, “Whoever wants this generation the most will win them. Lets want them more than the world does and do something about it.” I believe that currently we will lose many of our youth to ,best case scenario, cheaper housing somewhere else. Worst-case scenario, we could lose many to despair or worse right here in San Pedro. What are we going to do about it? I think some kind of Trinity Ministry School that equips High School graduates and others in the Scriptures, Spirit-filled living, and then an emphasis in Kids ministry, Youth ministry, Urban ministry, Global ministry; Worship ministry, Workplace ministry, followed by internships at various congregations, ministries (The Crossing, Teen Challenge, YWAM, Dream Center...) would help release the God-imparted dreams of our young people. Then who cares where they go?
· A Weekend Ministry School (One night a week) to equip those that can’t leave work or family to attend weekday classes, but would like a strong foundation and training for their current or future callings.
· A lean Resource Center (bookstore) to equip the Christian community of San Pedro with the best of current and classic Christian resources (books & Music), recent messages, series, Sunday School, pastoral care (cards), family resources.
· A Trinity Lutheran School that is focused on training up young men and women of character and valor that will change the world with Jesus Christ. (And the facilities they need to do this).

Vision for Trinity beyond the Harbor—called by the Holy Spirit to the adventure of following Jesus in doing what the Father is doing in our world.
· Intentionally target our city with prayer.
· Intentionally use our resources to GO: The puppets are already doing this! The youth are up to all sorts of apostolic—sent out ministry. The Crossing volunteers have been doing this for years. What if every year more of our people experienced San Juan Cosala in Mexico or Handclasp in Thailand, and who knows where else? What if every person connected to Trinity looked at their lives, their work, their families with missionary eyes and with a missionary heart?

I have a dream for Trinity, not that it would be a megasize church, but a Metastasized Church
me·tas·ta·size (mĭ-tăs'ta-sīz') means “to be changed or transformed, especially dangerously.”What if the Lord got a hold of us—changed and transformed us, and we became a dangerous people in his hands for his use? Dangerous to the domains, systems, and strongholds of this world.
Thy Kingdom Come!
Nathan
