The Ministry of Intercession - Day 6

Pray for the Spirit of Love in the Church. 

When entering into the ministry of intercession many subjects are exciting to pray for as they will make a big difference because something bad or evil is stopped. There is a sense of action and rescue mission over it. Saving things and improving through divine intervention.

Praying for the Spirit of Love in the church does not have the same feel of action over it. But when it happens the difference is huge. We have Jesus' own words for it. It's actually one of the few measuring rods He has given the world to measure us by. Not that the world will be our judge on judgment day, but because that particular measuring rod is a testimony to the world. It is not optional. It's a command that we love one another. But is is hard so we would prefer it to be optional and often we treat the commandment to love one another as optional. The reason it is so hard is that it involves me. It involves my attitude. It involves my patience. It involves my will. It takes my willful effort to treat a bother or sister with truth and love like Jesus did because it honors the Father and shows the world who's disciple we are. 

How to do it?

Pray for the Holy Spirit to show and shape you. Pray for the Holy Spirit to fill and form you with His power that you may bear the fruits of the Spirit of which love is the prime. Gal 5:22
