#andwerehoff TBG Challenge

Joy came up with the clever hashtag #andwerehoff to keep track of our trip across the various communication means we all use. Two are using the journaling app called Day One. Two are using Instagram. Facebook. Blogger...
I challenged everyone to look through the lense of the transcendentals (Aristotle's categories) for truth, beauty, and goodness: TBG. According to Wikipedia, St Thomas Aquinas said that God Himself is the fullness of truth, beauty, and goodness. He is! It has led to a few fruitful conversations in our family mealtimes and transport times. These also remind me of Paul's letter to the Philippians: Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. - Philippians 4:8
We are staying in a perfect townhouse in Southwark, London. Room for us all, a beautiful kitchen, a glorious espresso maker, comfortable beds, and close to easy transportation everywhere we are going. #goodness
We went on a fantastic 3.5 hour bike tour, that started from under the Waterloo Station. Legal graffiti, some of it really artistically done, some of it funny, some of it angry, some of it drug induced completely covered the walls and ceilings of this vast tunnel underground. Today's artist is always painting over what yesterday's artist communicated. I liked this one word John reports Jesus saying, "Remain." It might be a little ironic that that could already be painted over, but it will always be there even it is forgotten about by those who look with only their eyes. But I know it's there. #truth
Panorama from Lambeth, overlooking Westminster.
The current Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby has made prayer a priority of his tenure, but also of his household. Four Roman Catholic sisters have been joined by an ecumenical bunch of young adults who have given themselves to living in God's time for a year, through covenant to community, prayer, and service. This old palace is house of prayer. #beautiful
We went to Evensong at Westminster Abbey at 5pm. I thought of Effie Jones when they sang the canticles. When I heard she died, I immediately thought of the verse from Proverbs 31 that says, "Dignity and strength are her clothing." Effie will be dearly missed, but now she is enjoying a full revelation of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.
