Report on Day 2, Invitation to Day 3

We had another heartfelt morning at prayer. Today our focus was congregational repentance. We confessed and repented of passivity and lethargy, rebellion against leadership, clericalism within leadership, sexism and misogyny among men, and disobedience to the great commission.

When I came to Trinity in October of 2005, there were many lagging issues that threatened to paralyze us. God gave me a clear picture during those days of a coridor with doorways at various places along the way. Down the way a bit was an open door, but the only way to get to it was to start walking. If we were immobilized in our grief or woundedness, we would never get the door God was opening. In other words, we were to begin moving, until God invited us to pause and receive greater healing. I think this season of prayer is one of those doors that God is opening. We have the freedom to pause, look in the door, and ask, "God, what areas are you wanting us to address? Where do you want to heal us? What are you doing?"

Today, Pastor Paul Anderson joined us on the phone to pray for God to impart a passionate and courageous motivation to intercede. A young courageous Ugandan man prayed this for him recently, and it has moved him to extraordinary prayer.

Now we pray. Many of you have come in the morning, and many have responded in person or email that you are joining us during the day or even at the same time from your home or commute.

We will come together tomorrow morning again before our morning services (6-7am). Already I am seeing the dynamics of our relationships affected by this season. Starting Monday, we will ask the Lord for marching orders. We will ask, "Who do you want us to visit? Who do you want us to anoint? Who do you want us to bless? What do you want to do today-Lord, we want to join you!" This is when it gets challenging. This is when it gets fun! Joining God on His mission!
