What is a Theta Community night like?

Welcome to a Theta Community Night!

The 2021-2022 Theta Community (link for more info on Theta) consists of over 20 residential (interns) and non-residential (local) young adult members who commit themselves to a rule of life and a rhythm of prayer for a year. Thanks to Matt Kolden for capturing a typical Wednesday night. Last night was a track teaching night. Other weeks we have Integration Groups where we bring our vocations, our relationships, and seek to integrate the rule of life and what we have been learning into our lives. Other Wednesdays, our integration groups take turns planning activity nights.

We gather most Wednesday nights at Trinity San Pedro

Integration Groups rotate responsibility for preparing and serving dinner for the whole community.

This week's menu was delicious Chicken Chili and Lemon Bars.

Usually from 6-7 PM, we talk, laugh, and play corn hole

Dinner is served.

Gage is eating and wondering if he can help with the heaters.
We take time to celebrate any birthdays that are recent or coming. This week we celebrate Jason, who is so fun to celebrate! Happy Birthday Jason.
The carpet and hardwood is about to be laid in the sanctuary, so we took some time to write Bible verses and prayers on the subfloor. We pray that we would stand on the promises and invitations of God's word.

Come let us worship and bow down. Margary leads us in worship.
Connecting with each other is so good, but connecting with God is essential!

Track A Teaching Night--this week was on the vocas of vocation and discernment.

Track B Teaching Night--this week was on Prayer from Pete Grieg and the 24/7 Prayer Movement.

Every weekday, our community ends the day with a form of vespers. On Wednesday, because most of the community is present, we sing Holden Evening Prayer (Phos Hilaron, Psalm 141, Magnificat, pray the assigned Psalm, prayers, and evening benediction.
