Lent at Trinity 2017

Dear Friends in Jesus Christ,
Jesus' grace! Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 1st. Here are some resources for keeping a holy Lent.

1. Join us for regular worship on Sundays at 8:30 a.m. 10:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. as well as Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. We will be starting a series that encompasses both Sundays and Wednesdays called "Life Together." Sunday, I will introduce the theme through Biblical preaching, and Wednesday we will explore the theme with a short introduction, then discussion at tables. Come early for soup at 5:30 p.m. We will meet on Wednesdays in the MPR for Prayer, praise, and discussion.

2. Daily Bible Reading and Prayer. I've been enjoying reading the daily lessons from this Daily Prayer.

While I walk, I like to listen to the daily reflection from Pray As You Go.

Join us in the Church Office, Mondays through Fridays for the Daily Office at 9:15 a.m. We pray the Daily Text and pray for the concerns of the church and world.

3. Special Lenten Book. I will be using Dietrich Bonhoeffer's excellent classic "Life Together" during this season. You may want to read it as well. Here are some links to purchase the book:
Kindle Edition
Paperback Edition

4. Special Services. The Lenten and Holy Week worship services at Trinity are some of the most important to our family. Our kids are moved by them, year after year. Grown-up kids who have moved away from San Pedro talk about how important those services were in forming them to be who they are to this day. Join us on Ash Wednesday on March 1st at 6:30 p.m. Same goes for Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Vigil on Saturday before Easter!
