Deuteronomy Days Final Reflections

Over the last 3 mornings, a group of us have met in the Sanctuary at 6am to seek God's face. We have grouped the common themes we feel God has been highlighting. We confessed our own sins, and the sins of the congregation. We heard an assigned reading each day (Psalm 24, Psalm 96, Psalm 98, among others). We glorified God. We asked the Lord to speak to us. We quietly listened. We will mention them tonight at the service, and pray over them again, but wanted the whole Trinity congregation to be aware.

Deuteronomy Days Themes

Lordship

You...Potter
us...clay
Give us revelation of Your reign.
Have we lost reverence?
Have we become our own god?
Seek Ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Let us be consecrated wholly to you Lord. Let us hold nothing back. Show us anything we need to let go of.

Activated Faith

Engaged, not on the sidelines when He has said, "You're in the game."
Lord, I believe, help thou my unbelief.

Slowness/Patience of God

Rest in Him, He will come to you when in need.
"Two-edged" sword:

  • Need to learn to rest in Him (good)
  • Slow to be obedient (not good)
  • Slow to seek discernment (not so good)

God is not in a hurry, but he will not delay.

Generations

God will bring the fathers and sons together.
NO us -vs- them
A cord that cannot break. God is the strong middle one, He is the one who ties us together.
"Such is the generation that seeks His face." Psalm 24.
I see a unified church worshiping and seeking God's face together.
May the heritage of Trinity be the foundation for God's outpouring today. We stand on the shoulders of giants.

Repentance & God's Joy

Need to repent of:

  • Slothfulness
  • Indifference
  • Acting/working in our own strength
  • Lack of discernment (not listening)
  • Lack of trust in Him

Let our repentance lead to your righteousness working in us.
Turning toward His face we see the fullness of His joy, which is the fullness of our joy.
I see a church spending, some would say wasting, time in his glorious presence

Testing

How well do we discern when or whether we are in a time of testing? Are we blinded by entitlement?
Study for the "test" read the Bible
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
I see a church that makes isolated Christians a thing of the past. No one need to face testing or temptation alone!
Bring us through to the other side. Let the days of testing produce fruit and increase.

Obedience

Trust and obey for there is no other way...
Are we so entitled we feel no need or call to obedience, no need to submit?
From "have to" to "want to"
He wants an instant, active, strong will of obedience to Him.
Let us not hesitate or shrink back. God will not send us out alone but he will go before us.

Preparation

He is coming. We need to be ready for his return like a bride is ready for her wedding day to be with the bridegroom
Reveal to us what you have in mind for us to do. Direct our every step. Remove any hindrances.
Listed hindrances:

  • Comfort
  • Complacency
  • Unknown territory
  • Status quo
  • Disengaged spirit
  • Fear/doubt
  • Nostalgia
  • Past sin/offenses/failures
  • Poverty
  • Passivity
  • Lost reverence

General

May we all know the care, compassionate pursuit of abba.
Overflow is a sign of God's provision not our genius, good performance but God's grace.
The disciples asked: teach us to pray
May no one be left behind. Holy Spirit come.
