The Church and Changing Marriage

Dear Trinity friend,

Jesus loves you and so do I!

"For better or worse…until death parts us."  These are permanent life-long vows for an institution that is as old as Adam and Eve. 

As you have probably heard the US Supreme Court has made two major rulings on marriage this week that will make a significant impact on how marriage is viewed in our society.

How will we respond?  I believe we have an opportunity like never before.  I hope you will make a point to come to either the 8:30a or 10:30a worship services this weekend as we look at this from a Gospel perspective.  If you are unable to join us on Sunday, grab the podcast for free later in the week through our website:  www.TrinitySanPedro.org

Beloved, Jesus is in charge!  If you could pull back the curtain, like John in the book of Revelation, and see who is reigning you would see a slain lamb who is alive, a crucified and killed Son who is risen from the dead (Revelation 5.6).

I'm not in charge of the cosmos.
You are not in charge of the cosmos.
The United States is not in charge of the cosmos.
The Supreme Court is not in charge of the cosmos.
Jesus is.  And He has a plan.

Nathan, I SO wish I could hear this! Unfortunately here we can't listen to anything, or see videos etc, or download, or skype from our computers due to the overwhelmed service here! We live in one of the many 'dark spots' in the country where all internet signals are too weak. But you are correct, our Father is far bigger than all these goings-on and isn't anxious like we mere humans are. Thanks for that timely reminder, as we in England are going through the same issues. Thinking of you all.
