Poem on Matthew 13.44-53

God's kingdom's like a hidden treasure
found while doing other things
value? priceless! worth every pleasure
everything he owns he brings
for kingdom joy, the price he paid
not silver, gold. His life down he laid.

God's kingdom's like a merchant searching
here and there for something fine
he just finds one-but it is fetching
thinks to himself, "How can it be mine?"
for kingdom joy, the price he paid
not silver, gold. His life down he laid.

God's kingdom's like a thrown out net
not folded, safely in the craft
but used, thrown, down its let
unwilling for any to catch hell's draft
for kingdom joy, the price he paid
not silver, gold. His life down he laid.
