Lenten Prayer for Adult Children

From death to destiny

The goal is to focus prayer on one of these prayer targets daily. You can pray through this list twice during the season of Lent. May the Lord bless and keep you in his grace during these days. Lay hold of the willingness of the Father. Intercede with Jesus the great High Priest who is already interceding. Pray in the Spirit at all times!

Prayer Targets:

• Wholeness in Identity
• Healing from known and unknown traumatic events in their story
• Healing of deficiencies “lacks” in their story
• Conviction of sin
• Awakening of affections for God’s Word
• Awakening of affections for God’s world
• Captivated by the call of Jesus Christ to “follow me”
• Captivated by a call to meet real earthly needs with heaven’s resources
• Our need for forgiveness
• Their need for forgiveness
• Opening of doors no one can shut
• Closing of doors no one can open
• From confusion to clarity about who God is and who they are
• For breaking the idols of amusement, distraction, escapism, fantasy addiction
• For breaking the idols of substitute relievers, rescuers, redeemers.
• For engaging with real people
• For breaking the enemy’s claim of death and destruction on this generation that knows nothing else but legalized abortion
• For bodily healing
• For healing church/pastor related wounds
• For a forgiving heart for hypocrites
• For a breaking of the idol of casualness, laziness, fatalism
• For a revival of hope in God
• That a defining move of the Holy Spirit in our nation and in our world would heal the defining move of terror from 9.11
• That ancestral sins would be forgiven and their power broken
• Deliverance from demonic harassment

We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done. Psalm 78.4
