Resignation

For sometime now I have wanted to resign my self-nominated position as police man for everybody. I'm not even a very good policeman for myself. 

When I told this to someone, they said I had to police a little since I'm a pastor and a pastor is called to shepherd the flock.

My police man tendencies come from my desire to control the people around me. 

Seems like the good Shepherd is motivated by something else.

I liked this quote from this great book I'm reading:

"When I live in fear I tend to judge, control and police everyone around me." That's what I do. Nailed it, it's coming from fear! The way of the good Shepherd is motivated by love-so different from fear.
