House Blessing

We did a house blessing today. It is a beautiful, short service, praying for God's provision, protection, and His generous blessings on the inhabitants. We move around the home, claiming Scriptures promises, we listen for any prophetic word the Lord gives, we mark the entries with the sign of the cross. We close with this prayer of Basilea Schlink:

O Jesus,

May Thy gracious hand

Protect and guard our home and land.

Thy holy blood our refuge be

Against the raging enemy.

Thy cross, the sign of victory,

Makes Satan's forces turn and flee.

And so, Lord Jesus, may Thy cross

Be placed upon our land and house,

That by this sign they may be known

As being Thine, and Thine alone.

Protection for this place we claim,

Lord Jesus, in Thy precious name.

It is the mightiest of pow'rs,

And guard home, land, and souls of ours.
