New Years Poem
from Steve Marconi after 1st Service
A New Year' resolution:
I want to lose some weight.
The weight of burdens carried,
All those worries, small and great.
I pray the yoke be lifted
From my shoulders bent and bruised
That I be freed to serve you,
That this year I will be used.
Put me in a place of blessing
Where my wait will be for you,
That the Lord will be my portion
And the Word be what I do.
Loose the bonds that hold me captive,
Weigh me down with fret and fear.
Take my voice, God, calm my spirit
So it's your voice that I hear.
Give me strength to stay the course,
Self-control to keep this vow:
Make this the year that's more of you
And less of me--starting now.
